SMSeed Data Deletion Instructions

Effective September 7, 2026. Publisher: Signalcrest Media Solutions, LLC.

What SMSeed stores

SMSeed is local-first. Your working database, Media Library, backups and diagnostic files are stored on your Windows device. OAuth credentials are stored in Windows protected credential storage. The SMSeed web service does not host a copy of your publishing workspace, captions, media or social credentials.

Remove a connected account

  1. Open SMSeed and go to Brands & Accounts.
  2. Open Connected Accounts, choose Select, select the connection and choose Remove Selected.
  3. Confirm the removal. SMSeed removes the local connection record and removes its protected credential when no remaining local account uses it.
  4. To revoke access at the social platform itself, use the provider's connected-app, security or authorization settings.

Delete local SMSeed data

  1. Use Settings to create a backup first if you want to keep a copy. Backups are not deleted automatically.
  2. Remove connected accounts in SMSeed if you also want their protected credentials removed.
  3. In Settings, choose Open Database Folder and Open Media Folder. Close SMSeed, then delete the SMSeed database, Backups folder and Media folder that you no longer want to keep.
  4. Uninstall SMSeed from Windows if you no longer want the program. The uninstaller intentionally preserves local data, so deleting the local folders is the separate final step.

Deleting local data does not delete posts already sent to a social platform. Delete those posts from the applicable platform.

Delete voluntary feedback

If you used Send Feedback, email support@getsmseed.com with the subject line SMSeed Feedback Deletion Request. Include the SMF reference shown by the feedback form and the reply email you supplied, if any. Do not send passwords, OAuth tokens or social-media credentials. We will delete matching voluntary feedback from our private support storage unless retention is required for a legal or security reason.
